Omigod! Omigod! Omigod!

The MN Fringe is now officially right on our asses, people. Are you pumped? I know you just said “yes” to your computer screen. Congrats on that.

I know that there is, what the kids would call, a hella lot of Fringe info out there — Daily Planet blogs this, Strib reviews that — but here are just some of the reasons why FringeFamous is the site to refer to during this year’s festival…

1. REVIEWS! We’ll be seeing, what the kids would call, a shit ton of shows. And we’ll be posting short, quickie reviews so you know what to hit and what to miss. And we don’t have any experience reviewing theatre, so right away you know that we’ll be just as good as the Pioneer Press.
2. HALL OF FRINGE FAME! Are you lucky enough to be associated with a hit show at the Fringe…or a super crappy one? Goodie for you! You’ll instantly become fringe famous. We’ll be keeping a list of all you famous fringers…and we’ll be following you closely. But be sure to enjoy it. Fringe fame is a fleeting thing. Come August 11th, you’re just another pasty administrative assistant.
3. AUDIO REVIEWS BY…YOU! Sure, you can write a review on the Fringe site, but we actually want to hear what you have to say. Click on the blue “Call Me” button on the left-hand side of this blog. It’ll hook you up with our voice mail and BAM! you can leave us your thoughts on any of the shows you’ve seen…or any Fringe news, for that matter. We’ll take the ones we love and post them on the site.
4. THE FRINGIES! Yeah, you knew it was coming. We’re going to give out our very own FringeFamous awards…Fringies, MFer! We’re still nailing down the categories and other specifics, but rest assured — you will get the final say. We’ll announce the nominees toward the end of the festival, and then you’ll vote for the winners. You didn’t think we were going to leave it up to our acerbic asses, did you?

As you can see, there will be a lot of FringeFamousness going on in the next couple of weeks. Be sure to keep checking the site — or better yet, subscribe! Just plop your email in the box on the left and get FringeFamous updates sent right to your inbox. Your email is totally safe and it’s completely free. That’s awesome times two!

So get out there, see some shows, eat some bananas — and when you’re done for the night, hunker back down in front of your computer like the little mouse potato you know you are.
